SPEL is a division of Orbik Electronics Limited, a leading innovator within the European safety industry. With a policy of in-house manufacture under a quality system approved to ISO9000:2000, SPEL's vast range of products also includes digital self-test, intelligent addressable and central systems.

SPEL's lighting design and maintenance services ensure that the requirements of the customer are met from the initial design, the manufacture, delivery, commissioning and servicing of our products.

Manufacturing

Automated manufacturing of printed circuit boards, transformers, sheet metal fabrication, power coating and injection moulding facilities combine to ensure SPEL maintains it's proud reputation for supplying a comprehensive, flexible and competitive range of quality products.

Quality

SPEL have consistently maintained their quality standards within the lighting industry and are represented on the technical committees of the Industry Committee for Emergency Lighting (ICEL), the Lighting Industry Federation (LIF) and the British Standards Institute (BSI).

SPEL manufacture within a quality assurance system approved to ISO9000:2000. All products are covered by a three year warranty, excluding lamps and batteries, which carry the original manufacturers twelve month guarantee. All luminaires conform to EN60598 with many carrying the BSI Kitemark and all emergency control gear conforms to EN60924 and EN60925.

SPEL has a policy of continual product development and our own development and test laboratory enables our products to be amongst the market leaders for innovation and efficiency.SPEL's participation in the production of UK and International standards and regulations for emergency lighting and safety systems ensures that our products are compliant with current and future anticipated regulations within most safety applications.

Emergency Conversion Service

SPEL offer a fast efficient factory emergency conversion service, again within quality ISO9000:2000 and also in accordance with the recommendations of ICEL 1004.

SPEL take complete responsibility for all emergency conversions by way of a 12 month guarantee. All converted products comply with the EMC and CE marking directives.
