The zonal sounder module allows the option of only sounding the alarm in the zone where there is a fire, which is a useful feature when the fire panel covers a group of buildings. The module operates on four wires from the sounder and fire outputs on the fire panel and provides eight programmable zonal sounder circuits. The zonal sounder module can be programmed via DIL switches so that one zone is in evacuate (Continuous sound) and other zones are in alert (Pulsed).
